Annual Events in Mesquite!

Located in the northern central part of Texas, Mesquite is mostly known as the home of Championship Rodeo. It's the Rodeo Capital of Texas, but there are tons of other things to do apart from watching cowboys wrangling Longhorns.
Here are a few things your local electricians recommend  in order to get that genuine Mesquite experience.

 Breakfast with the Bunny

Residents of Mesquite won't let you go hunting for Easter eggs on an empty stomach. Every March, before the Easter festivities, the city welcomes Breakfast with the Bunny. It's a fun family event with a face painting, archery, a petting zoo, crafts, balloon animals, and train rides to keep everyone happily occupied.

Rodeo Parade

Being the Rodeo Capital of Texas, it would be a shame not to list at least a couple of rodeo events in Mesquite. You won't have to wait long for the first Rodeo celebrations to ignite the atmosphere in the city. April is the Rodeo Parade month. The festivities continue with Mesquite's long-standing tradition of horse riding and cattle wrangling infused with marching bands and tons of fanfare. You'll want to get to Downtown Mesquite to catch all the action brought to you courtesy of civic clubs, churches, and community groups from the city.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration

May sees this idyllic city join hundreds of other cities in the country to mark the Cinco de Mayo celebration. The Hispanic community in the city knows how to throw a party, and they invite the rest of the city to join them in this timeless fiesta. Enjoy authentic Mexican food, Folklorico dancers, piÒatas, bouncing houses for the kids and a jalapeno-eating contest.

KidFish

To close off what's already a fun month, the KidFish family event comes to town for a weekend of family fun in May. The event is aimed at the younger members of the city and awards them for their outstanding performance in various areas.

Rodeo Road Rally

Another rodeo inspired event comes to Mesquite in June. The Rodeo Road Rally is your chance to show your mettle. Get your bike and clock the best time in the Road Rally. There are three categories of bike races ñ the 20, 42, and 65-mile races. You get plenty of water along the circuit and an event t-shirt, and even if you're not competing, there's breakfast and lunch.

Summer Sizzle

June also welcomes the Summer Sizzle festivities, and since summer is just around the corner, what better way to welcome it than having barbecue cook-offs? Sink your teeth into delicious sides of beef while live music cheers on all participating teams.
